I used to be a pampered princess when I lived in the UK. I would have weekly manicures, blow dries, regular pedicures and facials so I’d like to say I know what I’m talking about when it comes to beauty treatments (that, and I trained in beauty therapy so I should have some kind of idea). So when I was invited for a facial at Elderberry and Kate, I jumped at the chance to be treated to a lovely facial but was also a little wary because once you know what a good facial is like, it’s super disappointing when it doesn’t live up to your expectations.
Needless to say that didn’t happen. When you go into Elderberry and Kate, you walk into a day spa that is focusing more on the holistic side of healing as well as treating all your beauty needs as well. Your shoulders drop a couple of inches and you feel relaxed when you take a seat in their relaxation area. When you’re then brought some of your favourite Rose tea by Libertine blends as well as some fruit and nut mix, you know you’re off to a good start.
Jude, who is the co-founder, talked me through my form I filled out, what I was looking for, checked over my skin and reassured me that she would be making up some personalised masks just for me. And when I was brought into the room where my treatment was being done, I was welcomed with a warm, snuggly therapy bed, that was pristine clean, the room beautifully decorated and dimmed so my treatment could begin.
I had high hopes. Everything was perfect up until then. And then the facial started….do not take what I say next lightly. I’ve had a lot of facials in my lifetime. BEST FACIAL EVER. The treatment was 90 minutes of pure and utter bliss. The amount of facial massage that was incorporated into the treatment blew my mind and I have never felt so calm, relaxed and comfortable ever. The reason it was so good was not only because of the amount of facial massage, it was also because I could feel the products working on my skin but weren’t irritating it. Half way through the treatment, an LED light was introduced to help the acne heal a little quicker as well as the texture and tone of my skin. It was *soooo* bright but I knew it was helping me get my glow back.
The masks were amazing, the massage amazing, there was literally everything you could have wanted and more from this facial. It made me want to book in for one every month it was that incredible. The products that were used were Dermaviduals which I had never heard of before so I wanted to check them out a little before they were used on my skin. They are a natural brand that I had actually never heard of before so I wanted to do some research into the ingredients used. I couldn’t find anything that I was concerned about at all which, to be honest, shocked me. I thought they would have sneaked some not so great chemicals in. But I guess I’m a little cynical of brands nowadays which is why I *always* ask for the list of ingredients for everything. Lame in one sense, but at least I can make an informed choice afterwards. I am still looking through everything though so will let you know if there isn anything amiss.
Anyway, the next morning, I got up and my skin was *noticeably* clearer, I felt the best about my skin in a long time and was totally sold on buying one of everything that Jude had recommended from their line. Who knew?! The best facial of my life and an exciting new brand that works on my skin which also performs. A match made in heaven if you ask me.
